Playtest history and rewards

Do not add 17,000, 25,000, and 40,000 together. They are three announcements about different tests. Rewards named by a developer are an Alpha cape from the royale period and a Beta cape from the MMO-lite tests.

Test and demo timeline

These are historical tests, not current sign-up windows. All dates below are from the studio news archive.

Counts by announcement

Participation figures come from studio announcements at different stages. Each is a single-source cumulative statement; the groups may overlap. The public news archive supplies the dated test history.

Rewards

Developer coty, in the rewards thread: an Alpha cape from the battle-royale period and a Beta cape from the MMO-lite tests. The April 9 note also mentioned a cape and a title for an April 16–23 beta. Cosmetic stats are not published.

What I checked

The three population lines were the easiest mistake on the site. I dated each one and left the sum uncalculated. The cape answer is developer coty on Steam, which is enough to name the items and not enough to describe their stats.

Questions

Did everyone who playtested get a cape?

The August open-beta announcement promised a Beta Cape to participants. A developer later distinguished Alpha capes from the battle-royale period and Beta capes from MMO-lite tests. These are single-source eligibility statements, not account-level reward checks.

Was the beta progress wiped?

The open-beta announcement said the beta would wipe. Demo progress, later, was said to carry into launch. Those are different tests.

Official identifies the publisher, not independent corroboration. Unless a specific claim cites two independent sources, each attributed figure or report is a single-source observation. Different pages from one publisher are one source.
