Is Scramble Knights Online free?
No. It is a paid game at US$12.99. Xbox Game Pass includes it, which is a subscription, not a free download. The timed demo ended at launch.
Three ways people mean “free”
An eligible Game Pass subscription provides access without a separate game purchase. Buying the game and the ended Steam demo are separate access options.

Game Pass details that are not filled in
Xbox Wire says the game is included with Xbox Game Pass, and the store marks a Game Pass requirement. The store page we read did not list every Game Pass tier by name. This page will not invent Core versus Ultimate eligibility.

I treated “free” as three different sentences people mix together. I checked the Steam price payload, the October 21 FAQ, and the Xbox Wire launch story before writing the split below.
Questions
Is it free to play like Knight Online?
No. Knight Online is a different, older free-to-play MMO. Scramble Knights Online is a paid buy-once game.
Did demo progress carry over?
The studio said demo progress would carry into the paid release. The demo itself is no longer listed.
Are there paid power boosts?
The launch FAQ says no microtransactions and no pay-to-win or pay-to-progress.
