Scramble Knights Royale is now Scramble Knights Online

Royale was the old name. The live game is Scramble Knights Online, a four-player co-op action RPG. The battle-royale mode was dropped before launch. Twitch’s category slug still says royale.

Name and mode timeline

The studio has not published a single clock time for the rename. The June 3, 2026 announcement is the public “we are changing” post. Launch of the new game was October 26, 2026.

What stayed, what did not

Optional faction PvP stayed. A 32-player battle royale did not. The official site and some social slugs still show the old name: Twitch’s directory category is scramble-knights-royale, and the X account @scrambleroyale keeps the old handle.

PS5 and Switch searches that include “royale” are answered on the platform pages: those consoles are not announced for the new game either.

What I checked

I read the December 2025 reveal, the June 3 2026 “new adventure” note, and the Xbox Wire essay that explains the genre change. I kept their player counts separate instead of adding them into one total.

Questions

Can I still play the battle royale?

No public build of the 32-player royale is the current Steam or Xbox product. The shipped game is the co-op MMO-lite.

Will battle royale come back?

The studio has not announced a return. This page will not treat silence as a promise either way.

Why do videos still say Royale?

Trailers and the Twitch category from before the rename were not all retitled. Check the upload date before you trust the mode they show.
